About Darrell
Darrell Seven was born in 1939 in Coos Bay, Oregon. He found art as a passion after serving in the United States Navy and attending Southern Oregon University, working as a history and government teacher and working for a New York publisher.
Summer Lake Resort was originally open land that Darrell purchased first for farming, and later he and his wife Jean developed a lodge with numerous cabins. People from around the world loved to visit Summer Lake Resort and it thrived.
Darrell describes his lodge guests as his “best crop.” In the 1980s, Darrell’s series of pen and ink drawings were developed into lithographs that became popular and priceless gifts to Summer Lake Lodge guests.
Darrell and Jean’s lodge is now PLAYA at Summer Lake Resort, an artist enclave that sits at the edge of the Great Basin in the Oregon Outback and offers residencies, workshop retreats, and campus rentals to artists and scientists working to promote dialogue and positive change in the environment around the world.
A native Oregonian, Darrell currently resides in the Tollgate Community in Central Oregon.
My Art
The mediums Darrell utilizes in his work are acrylics on canvas as well as pen and ink on various media. His colorful, often playful style makes his work uniquely recognizable. Darrell has a wide variety of art subjects that include a large number of impressionistic landscapes, a variety of abstracts, and incredibly detailed pen and ink drawings. He has a large number of pieces and continues to produce his art on an ongoing basis.
Art for Sale
Own an original or print of Darrell’s art for your home or office! Darrell has sold (or gifted) nearly half of the work he has produced in his lifetime. But his studio can only hold so much, so his entire collection is available for sale to make room for more original Oregon art!
Prices start at $160 for original works and $15 for prints. Matting is available for $30-$40 depending on size. Some works in the exhibit may be sold prior to your inquiry.
Art can be shipped anywhere. Works will be packed and prepared with all efforts to protect your new art for your collection. Shipping charges will be added to your invoice. All sales final.
